History I have been making Jem for my family for more than 25 years. I was raised on a diary farm and married a farmer. During this time I have worked in the medical field for more than 30 years. My interest in medicine has led to practices that promote health and making Jem became a natural offshoot. My sons (five!) consumed a LOT of food and homemade bread and Jem has "become another food group"! It is fair to say we have had a lifelong love of fruit and many family outings involved going out to pick whatever fruit happened to be in season!
As my years in the medical field progressed two things happened. I began to see more obesity and diabetes and the consequences of them. I also became ready for a change in the workplace. My passion had always been the fruit spread which I made for my family and this seemed to fit hand in hand with the need I was seeing from the hospital laboratory. The next steps lead to another way for you to enjoy fruit, Jem!
